Refund and Returns Policy

At The Guilded Bobbin, we want you to be confident in every purchase. This policy outlines your legal rights and our obligations under consumer protection laws in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and other applicable jurisdictions.
1. Statutory Right to Cancel (UK/EU Customers)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations and the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to cancel most online purchases within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason.
However, this right does not apply to:
- Goods that are made to your specifications or clearly personalized
- Goods that are cut, measured, or prepared to order (including fabric sold by the yard/meter or pre-cut pieces)
- Items sealed for hygiene reasons that have been opened
2. Returns (All Customers)
We cannot accept returns for:
- Fabric sold by the yard/meter or pre-cut pieces
- Clearance or sale items
- Custom orders or personalized items
Eligible returns include unopened, unused items in their original packaging, such as sewing notions, tools, or unopened kits. Returns must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.
To request a return, email refunds@theguildedbobbin.com with your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and your reason. We will confirm eligibility and provide instructions.
3. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you to confirm approval or rejection.
- Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless we made an error or the item is defective.
- If you are outside the U.S., UK, or EU, processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect goods:
- Notify us within 7 days of delivery.
- Include photographs of the product and packaging.
- We will arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund at no cost to you.
5. Exchanges
We only exchange items if they are defective or damaged. If an exchange is approved, we will ship the replacement once the original item is received.
6. Shipping Costs for Returns
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or the item is defective.
- We recommend using a trackable shipping service and retaining proof of postage.
- We cannot accept liability for returns lost or damaged in transit.
7. Cross-Border Orders
If you are ordering from outside the U.S., you are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or local handling fees. These charges are non-refundable.
8. Governing Law
This policy is governed by and interpreted under the laws of the United States (for U.S. customers) and under the laws of England and Wales (for UK/EU customers), without affecting your statutory rights.
